Detectives Nick Valenti and Sean O’Brian of The Assignment are back to reprise their previous roles as “Daddy” and “Boy Toy” in another undercover assignment for the department, but this time they are going to The Castle posing as Master and slave in a new adventure.
O’Brian, as usual, is incensed at his skimpy costume and even that description may be generous for this one! Other than black chaps he is as naked as the day he was born except that he has grown a bit. Part of the costume is something he doesn’t fancy – a leather phallus with long black tassels. Suffice it to say that Nick has a lot of fun making sure that the fit is just right and after the first few practice sessions they seem to have forgotten the purpose of the exercise. Kinky S & M for our detectives? What a concept! To crown it all, they miss the Fourth of July fireworks in the park, but it‘s all for a good cause, isn’t it? And what of their new assignment? You’ll have to read the book to find out.
In Fireworks Nick is upset because since Sean returned from a two-week vacation with his family he has been distant and doesn’t seem to want him anymore. What is going on? He decides to use his own brand of persuasion to get him to talk and what a lot of fun it was for him to pry Sean’s secrets out in the open. As usual, Evangeline Anderson does a great job with our two heroes and gives the fans what they have been clamouring for – more of Nick and Sean. Fans of The Assignment will not want to miss this one.
That was my favorite of the two Assignment short stories. I’m not a fan of D/S relatinships, but holy cow, to see Valenti top O’Brian and make him admit he liked submitting to him was hotter than hell. And the playing with the horsetail phallus… *thud*
You know, I think I might need to re-read this. Just to check I haven’t forgotten important details or something 😉

I’m always happy to give you more reasons to re-read what you already have and loved the first time. This book definitely falls into that category. I, too, liked the horsetail phallus and I found that there were important details that I had forgotten and I was only too glad to re-acquaint myself with this book LOL
Horsetail contains silicon, which plays a role in strengthening bone. For that reason, it is sometimes suggested as a treatment for osteoporosis. It is also used as a diuretic, and as an ingredient in some cosmetics. However, very few studies have looked at horsetail’s effect in humans.*:;-
