THE REVIEW
Stacy definitely didn’t want to get involved with Levi who was much too young for him anyway. He helped Levi get out of a sticky situation just like someone else had helped him when he was in trouble 20 years ago. But he is totally captivated by Levi and he tries to resist his charms as he remembers what happened in the past. Levi who wants Stacy, isn’t prepared to take “no” for an answer and doesn’t intend to let Stacy go without a fight.
This couple has more than the age difference against them. The dating game is certainly different between a 40 year old man and a 25 year old. But Levi also has secrets that he doesn’t initially share with Stacy which could influence any future relationship. Will Stacy still want Levi when he finds out how he has been deceived?
This is another excellent book by K.C. Kendricks who continues to write stories that are different from the norm in that at least one of the protagonists is much older and has a lot of life experience behind him. In this case there is a May/December flavour to the story and Levi is delightful as he pursues Stacy. The sex is very sensual as well as hot and the difference in their experience is evident when they make love. The characters are three dimensional and their relationship is complex, with everything stacked against it succeeding.
I really like this book and K.C. Kendricks has written another story that I think readers will appreciate. The reason I love this writer is the realism in the way her stories end and she doesn’t insult the reader’s intelligence. For those readers who love their HEA, there is a very good ending to this story.
Great review, I’ve read her other 2 Victory books and enjoyed them both very much. This one is on my TBB list. Now if I could only find the time to read my entire TBR list and what’s to be bought, I’d be a very happy woman 🙂
I should stop reading reviews for books that you like because I find most of the time I like the same ones you do and then I just get “forced” to buy more. LOL Sounds like a great book, I’m going to have to start a TBB file, because I tend to think “yeah I should get that” then forget what I was talking about when the time comes. Hmmm. There’s an idea. But the questions is, am I that organized?

I don’t think I’ve read May/December in an M/M yet. I wonder how different it is when the two people are of the same sex (versus M/F).

There are the usual problems of where the characters are in their lives, what they want to accomplish (or been there, done that), stay in or go out, “recovery” time etc. Not a lot of difference with M/F books, but what I like about M/M books is that there is usually a lot more humour, give and take between the protags and more understanding.
