“Author of the Week” remains one of the most popular events on this blog. This series started last September with Jet Mykles as the first author and it has taken off beyond my wildest imagination. The idea behind the series was to give struggling and established authors an equal opportunity to promote themselves and their books free of charge in a friendly environment that didn’t stress them out, through a series of very short interviews. Of course that didn’t quite work out the way I intended, because the original idea was to post book covers and ask the authors a couple of standard questions. As usual, I got carried away and now these are full fledged interviews, with content almost equal to my regular monthly author interviews which helped define this blog.
Currently the schedule is full up to the end of April because authors kept writing me asking to be interviewed, and I also took the opportunity to ask some of my favourite authors to come out and play. My original post outlined why I wanted to do this. I felt that authors needed an avenue to market themselves and their books and also give their fans and other readers an opportunity to get to know them a little better – whether they were stay at home housewives or househusbands, presidents of large multi-national corporations, truck drivers or Dennis the guy at the drive-in. I think that the series is achieving its objective so here’s the next block of interview dates that are available on a first come, first served basis –
May 13, 20 and 27
June 10, 17 and 24
Of course, the monthly interviews which are more in-depth continues, but I reserve the right to issue invitations for those because these are authors whose work I have enjoyed for some time and I want you, the readers, to get to know them a little better.
So, I look forward to hearing from you whether you write gay erotica, are brand new to the game of being an author, or a “vintage” writer. All it means is that the spots were taken in less than 2 hours and a few authors who were late asked me to contact them if there were cancellations. This is just a tiny blog of no importance.

I was just thinking yesterday that in just over two months the blog will be 1 year old – hardly seems possible. The first month I was just struggling to learn how to navigate Blogger and I still am in a lot of ways.
