Coming Up This Week – November 15

Another packed week full of reviews and guest blogger posts. How lucky can you get? *g*

A quick recap of last week. M.L. Rhodes did her first movie review for Shelter and what a wonderful review it was. I’m looking forward to her next one. Mychael Black was guest blogging on Thursday and I know that many of you enjoyed his post. The big news was Geoffrey Knight’s interview which was a hit. I donated a copy of his latest book Riddle of the Sands, which was eagerly sought after, but Ingrid was the winner. I don’t know what she gives Randy but it seems to be working. 😀 Last, on Friday I did a post on historical romances because I really wanted answers to a few questions and boy did I get an earful. This post had the highest number of comments on the site so far.

The mini poll on Friday Guys has closed.  The question was – What kind of guys would you like to see on Fridays? You overwhelmingly voted for couples – 50%  of the total votes cast. The other categories were Muscular – 27%; Boyish 24% (Ally and Tam voted several times I’m sure); Older Men 22%; and bringing up the rear, Bears at 9%. You are going to have to help me here because there aren’t that many couples on the sites that I visit, so please send me pics of your favourite couples or the URL of sites where I can find them. The pictures should be fairly large with excellent resolution.

Today there are 2 reviews posted – Leslie is taking us into the past as she tells us what she thinks of American Hunks by David L. Chapman and Brett Josef Grubisic, and Aunt Lynn reviews K.C. Kendricks’ latest, Taming Triton.

This week Amber Allure has an Amberpax which means that there will be 5 AA books given away. Here’s the list –  Superstar by Rick R. Reed, Son of a Preacher Man by Jamie Craig, My Heroes Have Always been Cowboys by Lynn Lorenz, The Impossible Dream by Christiane France and Somebody to Love by Carolina Valdez.

Tomorrow Charlie Cochrane’s review of The Persian Boy, a classic book by Mary Renault which was originally reviewed for Speak Its Name, will be posted on the site. Thanks to both Charlie and Erastes, owner of SiN, for allowing this joint posting. Also Aunt Lynn will be reviewing Poseidon’s Pleasure by K.C. Kendricks.

On Tuesday Erastes is consulting her crystal ball to decide what to talk about so it will be a surprise.

Jenre is posting a review of To Be Where You Are by K.Z. Snow. (I think I know who are her favourite authors). Also, Val will be reviewing My Lupine Lover by Stormy Glen.

On Wednesday I’m interviewing author J.P Bowie who has at least 25 books published. Jim is from Aberdeen, Scotland and you’ll be amazed at his life. *Hint* He worked for a very famous Las Vegas act and he tells me that he’s pretty good at taking off clothes –  his and other people’s. 😀 

Sometime this week Kassa is reviewing Shades of Gray by Brooke McKinley which I think she likes.

I have a couple of reviews to post on Wednesday but which ones will depend on which books I finish first. 🙂

On Thursday Rick R. Reed is guest blogging and he’ll tell you why he’s now writing love stories instead of horrors. No, he hasn’t abandoned horrors quite yet, he’s just tired of scaring himself.  😀

There wll be reviews posted on Thursday but since they are mostly mine we’ll have to wait and see who gets top billing. On the list is To Die For, a paranormal anthology by MLR Press, another anthology – Esprit de Corps published by MLR Press, Prise de Fer by A.R. Moler and Becoming Us by Anah Crow and Dianne Fox. In addition, there are a few books that I read sometime ago and I’m hoping to post the reviews this week.

On Friday the boys are in town looking for some love.

 Also on Friday Laura Baumbach, author and owner of MLR Press is guest blogging but she hasn’t told me her topic so that’ll be another surprise. 🙂

Speaking of guest bloggers, what would you like them to talk about? Usually the authors choose their topics but I am also interested in hearing from you about the subjects you would like them to blog about. Please leave your comments on the post. Try not to choose a subject that has already been discussed. 😀

Next week I’m interviewing Luisa Prieto, mistress of the dark side, and I’m anxious to see her responses to my interview questions.

On Saturday Jenre will be reviewing Dreamlands by Felicitas Ivey.

You will be pleased to know that Tam has completed her FAQ as you requested which shows you how to navigate the site. This should be posted soon. Christian and I are still looking into a new comments plug-in since you’re unhappy with the one on the site, but that’ll take a little more time. In the meantime as I asked last week, if there’s one on a site that you visit which you like please leave the name of the site on the post.

You may have noticed that Christian has installed a brand new version of the Neocounter which lists the number of visitors by country. I think it’s pretty neat. The newest countries from which the site is accessed are Ghana, Botswana, ElSalvador and Algeria. Who knew?
