Did you know that there’s a whole world of websites devoted to foot fetishes? I was trolling the web last night looking for some information about feet and guess what I found? Multiple sites devoted to sucking toes. That reminded me of Tam’s post about licking armpits. Sniffing apparently has been around since time began and not just with dogs (get your minds out of the gutter people). 🙂 Many authors write about it in their books e.g. Bobby Michaels loves man smells – pits, toes, jocks, pubes, etc. and writes about them in his Jock Dorm series – which I love – the series not the fetish. Countless other authors e.g. Neil Plakcy, extoll the pleasures of sniff and get off.

Personally I don’t like feet. I mean they serve their purpose, walking and wearing cute shoes. I don’t even like sandals that much. I have read a few m/m where it is mentioned in passing. I’ve seen toe sucking in, um, research, but it doesn’t do much for me to read or watch, but I think the whole issue of smell (wherever you find your place to sniff) in terms of sexual attraction and “getting off” is key. I do try to include that without bludgeoning a reader, I guess because smell has always mattered to me.
It’s the only one of our five sense that’s processed without going through our cerebral cortex if I understand it correctly. Smell goes directly to our “lizard brain.”

If I played by the rules this website wouldn't exist in its current form. I have been writing posts like this for almost as long as my old blog existed, to get readers to talk about what they want to see more of in M/M romances, what they would like to see less of, whether they would like more plot and less sex, which sexual practices really turn them on, etc. and I think the exchange between authors and readers is good feedback for both.

I’ve sucked toes! Well, they were clean toes and it was for fun, no particular fetish involved on either side, I had mine sucked too and I laughed my head off. That was an afternoon to remember. If I read a book that included erotic toe-sucking or such, I’d probably skip that part until it’s over because it’s not sexy to me. As for real life, I’m ticklish as hell so no one touches my feet, or beware! I almost broke my dad’s nose when I was younger and he tickled my feet.
