I mentioned in my weekly update last Sunday, July 11, that I was disappointed with the number of entries submitted for the Fun Writing Competition so far, and I indicated at that time I was considering either cancelling the competition, or extending the closing date. I thought it would be unfair to those who had already submitted their stories to cancel without giving the competition a chance, so I have decided to extend the closing date to July 31st at midnight. This means that August 1st at 12.01 A.M. will be too late.
I hope that this extension gives those bloggers who are still on the fence a chance to write their stories and send them in before the new closing date, because there will be no further extensions.

I’m sorry to hear you’re not getting much response. I admit, I was excited about the contest, but the whole summer is just too busy to focus on another project. I hope the deadline extension inspires a few more.

I sent my submission in late last night, writing in a hurry, trying to make the deadline. I’m glad for the extension, but could there be a chance to resubmit now that I have time to look over my hurried words?

I’ve been trying, but so far there is too much stuff for me going on to say for sure that I’ll be able to submit something.
