Coming Up This Week October 3

Yesterday I posted our quarterly statistics here. Thank you all for helping to make the site such a huge success. Who knew that less than 15 months after moving here we would be riding so high – but you know what they say, don’t get carried away, so I’m taking this one day at a time. However, I was so happy with Christian’s fancy chart (Buda calls it “number porn”) LOL that I rushed right out to buy him something but I couldn’t find any baubles to fit into my budget of $5 which was all I could afford after handing out bottles of vodka to everyone, giving the reviewers raises, and paying for a conference in Berkeley, California :). It was a lot of fun but I’m waiting for the next shoe to drop when I ask for your  feedback which is later this week. I should NOT have promised. Darn!

I have great news. This morning the wonderful Christian installed a new “search” plugin. I hated the old one which was wrong 9 times out of 10. You must test this one and let him know how you like it (or not). In the next few weeks his job 1 will be to find a new theme for the site – I hate this because I remember the last time when we moved Blogger lost many of the posts and thousands of comments, and it took months to find some of the missing information, but the comments are gone forever. Christian will keep you posted. 🙂

Two reviews are on the site today, both from Torquere’s great Charity Sip which we’re all enjoying. Lynn reviewed Eyes Wide Shut by Meredith Shayne and TJ posted his review of  It’s A Calling by Mara Ismine. I’m sure you noticed that we have been reviewing the stories in this anthology which is for a very worthy cause, all the proceeds including the authors’ royalties and the publisher’s revenue will be donated to Doctors Without Borders. I hope that many of you will buy this book to support DWB.

I’m writing a review of The Subtle Build of Perfection by L.M. Turner which I hope to post late tonight. I’m still behind so I will only promise to review  one new book this week – Quid Pro Quo by Manna Francis, book 2 of The Administration series.

This week in our continuing series Ins and Outs of M/M Romance author J.P. Bowie talks about Questions I have been Asked. In case you’re wondering, I propose to close off this series  on October 26 and the remaining posts will be by Clare London, Josh Lanyon and J.R. Langley.

The scheduled interviews for the rest of 2010 are: October – James Buchanan, November – Amy Lane, and  December there are two interviews, one with Madeleine Urban and Abigail Roux on December 1 to talk about Fish and Chips, the third book in this series which will be released December 6, and to close off the interviews in 2010 with a bang, Josh Lanyon will be here on December 15.

TJ had a wonderful idea – he would like a special version of the Friday Guys (maybe we could have it on Saturday in addition to the regular post on Friday). His idea is a post of gay celebrities – singers, actors, etc. and I would like you to submit your pictures if you have any. Please ensure that the pictures are of high resolution since they always lose some of it when they are posted. Buda has been sending me nekkid pics from his secret stash since I told him about TJ’s idea – he doesn’t get that the guys should at least be wearing a thong. 🙂
