Thanksgiving Pilgrim
Today is the Canadian Thanksgiving. We live in a country of which we are justly proud, and despite the usual bickering between English and French Canada we manage to get along, most of the time. 🙂
I think if you ask Canadians what they love most about this country they would be hard pressed to name one specific reason. Could it be hockey? How about the political landscape which befuddles us most of the time? 🙁 Maple syrup?
Canada Geese? 🙁 Thoughts of winning the Stanley Cup maybe in 2030? LOL. Summer at Harbourfront? Winter sports? Whatever the reason, the fact remains that we love this country and have much for which to be thankful. So on Thanksgiving 2010 let’s celebrate and give that old bird the best ride of her life.

Living in a town on the Canadian border we feel a strong connection with Canada. Two of our favorite (or should that be favourite today) shows are Canadian (22 Minutes and the Mercer Report). I only listen to a Toronto radio station and will sometimes even pronounce words with a Canadian accent. 🙂
So, here’s a toast to all of you wonderful Canadians. You have much to be thankful for (though you do need a new Prime Minister :-)).

We do use the British spelling most of the time but we mix and match with the American spelling. After all, we love both our US neighbours and the Queen. LOL
We won’t talk about politics today because I really want this bird to digest. 🙂
Good guess but then I don’t think there are many places beyond the Western New York area that could pick up CFNY over the airwaves – though they now have an iPhone app so you can listen to them anywhere.
Enjoy the turkey. We still have to wait another six weeks for ours. By the way, love the pilgrim can you send him our way at the end of November?

Yay, turkey leftovers. 🙂 We had our big meal yesterday so today is lots of leftovers, although surprisingly not much pumpkin pie left. 😉
I am a proud Canadian and it’s hard to pin down one thing, we aren’t all sunshine and roses and still have room to improve, but on the whole I think it’s a pretty dang nice to live (if only winter lasted for a total of three weeks over Christmas and then spring came I’d be even happier). I’m already whining about the cold and it hasn’t even gotten below freezing here yet. LOL

Like Tam we celebrated yesterday.Had the whole family over,kids running around.Thankfully it was nice and sunny out so we could spend some time outside.
So today is leftover turkey day 🙂
By Day 2 everyone is sick of Turkey a la mode. LOL

I’m with Tam, it is a pretty nice place to live and I also wish winter – er, rain season here – was only a few weeks. We do have a gorgeous clear blue sky day today on the West Coast though, the leaves are just starting to turn, and the air is crisp and clean. Couldn’t get any better.

If you live in B.C. you shouldn’t complain about the weather because you never experience the cold the rest of Canada does. 🙁 But today it’s wonderful in Ontario except where Tam lives. LOL
