I am pleased to announce that effective January 2011 Josh Lanyon will be our monthly author contributor on the site. If you don’t know Josh, you 
aren’t a fan of M/M romances. He has written too many books for me to mention them individually, but those of you who know his work are probably most familiar with his crown jewel, The Adrien English series.
Josh has written countless other books including the Dangerous Ground series, and he has partnered with Laura Baumbach for the award winning Mexican Heat. More recently he has worked with a number of other authors on upcoming books and last week he released two new books in the Petit Morts series along with Jordan Castillo Price and Sean Kennedy. Fair Game, his first novel for Carina Press that was released in August was a No. 1 best seller for that publisher. His official bio is posted on his website:

Josh is a prolific writer and I’m constantly amazed at the number of quality books that he manages to deliver to his fans. His books have given me so much pleasure and I can never repay him for his skill as a writer, his imagination, and above all, his characters who seem like old friends, except the murderers. 🙂
He drives a very hard bargain and tried to squeeze the maximum amounts of chocolate he could out of me before he would agree to this new assignment, but I had an ace that I threw in – a few Irish coffees – and he caved. LOL
Seriously, new AND experienced authors alike will benefit from Josh’s advice and I’m proud to welcome him to the site in his new capacity. There is a downside of which he is not aware, and I’m waiting for the screams when he finds out there’s no travel budget. 🙂
Josh’s monthly column will be called The Size of It and I will leave it up to him to explain the name in his first post.

Well you already know how I feel about Josh Lanyon, but I’m sure that The Size of It will be very impressive. That’s wonderful news Wave. But I would like to know when he’s going to squeeze this into his already bursting schedule. Has Josh decided that he doesn’t need sleep anymore?

Are you trying to screw up this deal before it gets going? Hell, if I can do without sleep so can he. As I explained to him, he was already writing a column for the site every 6 weeks or so, (when he was sick of my pleading and whining and gave in to shut me up,) so doing this once a month was no big deal.
I think this will be great, particularly for new M/M authors, and maybe everyone will be relieved that I won’t be writing as many rants in future on Fridays. LOL

When he found out that the travel budget was non existent because John spent it on his seniors’ bus trip, he had a meltdown. However I promised him some of Lynn’s delicacies (as in food) so I think the deal is still on. 🙂

Actually he’s going to reign on Tuesdays. Since everyone is accustomed to the Ins and Outs posts being on Tuesdays I thought he should keep that day.
Anyway Fridays are funky because my “commentary” has to compete with the Friday guys strutting their stuff, and I didn’t think that Josh should subject himself to such flagrant flaunting of manflesh. 🙂

I’ll have you know that, ever since you yelled at me a while back for never reading a Josh Lanyon book, I have picked them and have completely and totally *devoured* them and am now in love!! All I can is “WOW”….what an incredible author! And he’s going to be posting here once a month?? You keep making this site juicier and juicier 😉

I think he did this because he really wants to help new and newer M/M authors perfect their craft, and he feels that if he can give them a little encouragement and technical advice maybe they will become better writers. As to how I did it, I said so in the post – chocolate and Irish coffee. LOL Seriously he was very open to the idea so I didn’t have to break any arms or legs. He takes his craft seriously and he has helped many new writers – one who has attested to that recently is Harper Fox whose books are a delight.
I don’t know about juicier – don’t some of you wish I would stop ranting at M/M authors and become more tolerant of their mistakes? In other words become a nice forgiving reader? I’m really going to try ….. but not in this lifetime. 🙂
So glad you’re now a fan of Josh’s books and understand why I can’t stop singing his praises to new M/M readers. (I didn’t yell – I was just a bit surprised that you hadn’t read any of his books). 😉
