Author Profile – Ethan Stone

As promised, here is the first new M/M author profile – Ethan Stone.

Here’s Ethan’s bio:

Ethan Stone is 37 years old and finally achieving his dream of being a published author. He’s a single father of a pre-teen boy, so please, pray for him.

He lives in a very small town in Nevada and wears a uniform to work. Like most authors, he lives vicariously through the characters in his book.

Ethan has written two books to date:

In The Flesh and Being Taught, both of which were reviewed on the site

In the Flesh is a novel and I’ve linked the review. Here’s the blurb

Reno Detective Cristian Flesh lives his life by a strict set of personal rules, preferring one-time flings and anonymous encounters to committed relationships. His rules work for him… until his life is turned upside down when first, a former lover, a famous televangelist, is attacked, and then one of his one-night stands is murdered, making Cristian the prime suspect.

When handsome lawyer Colby Maddox takes his case, Cristian finds himself wanting to break all his rules about relationships. The instant attraction between them is undeniable. But before they can contemplate any kind of future together, they’ll have to clear Cristian’s name by finding the real murderer.

Ethan’s other book is a very short story Being Taught that I reviewed and I was impressed at what he achieved with a minimum amount of words. It’s not easy to write a satisfying short story.

I’m a virgin. I think I want that to change tonight. I want someone to fuck me, but I also want to be shown what to do. I want to be taught. I might get nervous, and I need someone who won’t get angry if I say stop. … No names. No feelings. When it’s over, we say goodbye and never see each other again. We both get something out of the deal.

According to his website Ethan submitted Flesh & Blood, the sequel to In the Flesh to Dreamspinner on Thanksgiving. Here’s a brief preview of F & B

Cristian and Colby are back in a mystery that takes Cristian through his past and makes him deal with his inner demons.

He has two other stories in the works with Dreamspinner, Starting Over a contemporary short story to be released in March 2011 and Wolf Moon a paranormal romance due out in  April of next year.

  • so please, pray for him

Okay, I nearly snorted coffee out of my nose. If it’s any consolation I found pre-teen to be a wickedly ugly time, teen has been a dream. Wishing you well Ethan. 🙂

I have read both Ethan’s stories and enjoyed them both. Looking forwards the Flesh and Blood and the other upcoming releases.

  • Loved In The Flesh and I’m glad to see the next one finished. Ethan, if your lurking, what does your son think of his father being a published author? My girls wonder why mom can’t stay home full time now that I’ve sold. If wishes were horses…

    A

  • My son thinks its pretty cool that I published a book. Of course the fact that I write ALL the time annoys him because he’d like to get on the computer occasionally.

    Ethan

    • Ethan
I guess you’ll have to get him his own computer or iPad. I’m surprised he hasn’t tried to hit you up for one already. 🙂

    • Yes, especially me. 🙂

It’s great to see a profile of “the other Ethan,” Wave. Thanks. Just remember the sequel rule when the time comes. lol

Ethan, you know I loved your two previous books, so I’m eagerly awaiting your new ones. Just one question: Will we see more of Gabe in Flesh & Blood?

  • Hey Buda-Yes, Gabe is has a big part of Flesh & Blood. My next book, which I hope to start writing soon, will be all about Gabe. I’d hoped to start writing his story sooner but between a move and the holidays it got postponed a bit.

I hope you like Starting Over and Wolf Moon when they come out next year.

    –Ethan

    • Ethan, you know I’m not a fan of shifters/were-anythings, but I’m looking forward to Wolf Moon, just because it’s yours.

It’ll be fun to see Gabe again. I’m glad he’s back. I’ve been wondering what he’s up to.

  • Hi Ethan! Love your books and impatiently awaiting the next (is it March yet?).

On the cusp of empty nest 🙁 I’ve found each age more interesting than the last. Teens in particular have been fun to raise.

Hope everyone (including the muse) loves the new place 🙂

  • See Ethan I wasn’t the only big Gabe fan! I want it NOW!! (push, push, push) I really don’t know if prayers are gonna help with your son 🙂 Really liking your new website 😉

  • Val–I hope you enjoy reading my stories as much as I’ve enjoyed writing them.

Feliz–Thank you for saying you liked In the Flesh. I’m happy to let anyone get to know me more. I’m (almost) an open book

  • Hi Ethan! I have In The Flesh in my TBR file… I think I will be reading it sooner than I thought! As Wave knows, I am a total spaz when it comes to dealing with the ever-increasing TBR file, but I love that I can simply open this blog and find something (that I already have lol!) to pick from, cause the list is a bit overwhelming….so, Thanks Wave for doing my work for me *giggles* Congrats Ethan of the upcoming releases, I am off to add those to the TBB file 🙂

  • Okay…I’m adding you to my TBR List. It had to be done at some point!

LOL…And we should totally refer to one another as “Other Ethan”! I think that would be funny.

So Other Ethan…about this uniform of which you speak? ; )

        • Don’t get your knickers in a twist Buda .. or maybe you should. E. told us that Part III of Boone and Wade has to wait until 2012 because he’s busy on “other projects”. 🙁

          • That man’s priorities are all screwed up. Makin’ us wait longer for more Boone. Who does he think we are? Pfft. We may be loyal, but we are not patient!

      • Now that’s just silly…you’ll HAVE to wait until 2012 for the books he doesn’t get written until that time…hee hee. And the smart-ass of the year award goes to…ME!!! LOL! ; )

  • Hi Guys
Ethan Stone emailed me this message on his phone – seems like he’s having all kinds of trouble:

Wave–out of town w numerous probs. A flat tire, preteen boy and
motel that charges for sucky wireless r just a few. Writing this on
my phone so pardon the poor eng. Will respond to all posts when i get
back. If you want u can post this message. When i get back i will
talk about my exploits here, minus the details of course. Thx–Ethan
    Stone

  • Elaine- I hope you are satisfied with my story.

Other Ethan-I’m adding you to my TBR as well. I’ve def heard good things about you. As for the uniform…what do you want to know?

Rureadinganotherone-I can’t give ALL the details.

    • Oh, Other Ethan…I think you’ll find that I like to know everything. : ) Believe me when I say it’s much better than the alternative, where my imagination will otherwise wander if allowed to mull over ALL the possibilities.

  • Okay-The story of my trip to Reno. I went to spend some time with my son, to get some shopping fun and to have some fun. In “In The Flesh” there is a bathhouse mentioned. That bathhouse is a real and actual place. I hadn’t been there in awhile so I was looking forward to going again. Fridays and Saturdays are usually pretty busy with at least fifty guys wandering around all with one thing on their mind. Several hours can be spent there while spending time with numerous men. Even if you get turned down by a few guys there are always others that are your type or you are theirs. However, when I went there was maybe ten guys during the several hours I was there. I am by no means arrogant or think that I’m “all that and a bag of chips” but neither am hideously ugly. And I also don’t expect all guys I’m with to be model gorgeous, but that night the men there were mostly either not my type or vice versa. I did have a pretty good time with one young guy with a buzz cut, but compared to my other trips there it was rather slow.
Saturday morning, the valet got my car and as I drove off I realized my tire was flat. The hotel didn’t have any service to help me, so me and my son put on the spare tire in the parking lot and went to a tire shop. The tire was too shot to fix and the shop didn’t have a used tire so I had to buy a new one. I could’ve driven to another shop, but at that point I just wanted to get it done. Its possible the guy was taking advantage of me, but I didn’t think so because he is friends with a co-worker of mine. But buying the new tire took half of the money I had budgeted for shopping. So when I did manage to get to Wally World I had to choose between fun things for me or pants that my kid desperately needed. Of course I chose pants for my son. Not that I’m particularly suspicious, but I do tend to believe that bad things come in threes. So I was pretty much scared to go anywhere. We swam in the motel pool and hung out in the motel. Not a terribly bad weekend, but not near as fun as I had hoped. I think the worst part was that the motel/casino I stayed at charged for wireless and even though I was willing pay for it I couldn’t log on. So I was without internet except for what I could manage to do on the phone. So I was totally lost with the net and any writing I had planned to do on the weekend didn’t happen because I was too stressed about everything else. But, I made it home safe and sound, hoping that nothing else bad is going to happen. Oh, did I mention that the LAST time I went to Reno I had a flat tire on the way there. Maybe I should stay away!

    • Well, well, well, Mr. Stone. It appears you and Mr. Day have more in common than just a first name! He’s a raging slut, too. 😉

Sorry to hear your trip wasn’t everything you dreamed of, but glad you got home safe and sound. Perhaps next time, you should plan ahead and take a new tire with you! The important thing is you got to spend some quality fun time with the kid–and that he has pants. 🙂

      • Now Buda…I’m only a raging slut in my own mind. In real life when I catch a guy looking at me I wonder if I have something in my teeth.

I stayed in a clothing optional hotel in LA once with a couple of my BFF’s…I spent my nights chain smoking and chatting it up with the hotel staff and the other guests when they were between…engagements? LOL

I quit smoking…damn it. Now all I have is my incessant yammering. I don’t know what it is about me, but I seem to require verbal stimulation before I’m able to partake in other forms of…oral activities…unless I’ve been drinking heavily, LOL!

        • Ethan

Was this a menage? Any pictures? lol

  • Other Ethan, Buda- You are both more than welcome to join anytime I head to Reno or Vegas or there’s this interesting men’s bed and breakfast in Boise.

I admit to being a raging slut, though because I live in a VERY small town where there are very few options. And because of my day job I have to maintain a low profile. Yes, Other Ethan, the day job where I wear a uniform. I work at a maximum security prison and I’m sure your imaginations will come up with all sorts of things and none of them would be correct.

    • To be fair, my imagination is rarely correct, lol. But I wasn’t one of those fans of the TV show Oz…that show scared the ever-lovin’ shit outta me. I don’t mind being man-handled but something tells me they don’t use safe words in a joint like that. Plus orange is a horrible color on me. : )

I will imagine you, fondly, in the uniform, though.

And I’d love to take a road trip to Vegas or Reno w/ you and Buda! But I wouldn’t subject you to going to the bath house with me in tow. I try to keep the witnesses to my social retardation in sexually charged situations to a minimum. Think of it as my gift to you, lol.

      • Ethan
Should I be charging a fee for these hook-ups? I just found out about rentboy and I’m wondering if there’s a new career for me since there are people like you and Buda who are looking for a good time but don’t have the time to find your ultimate dream guy. lol.

I can see my name in lights -“Wave’s den of iniquity” 🙂

        Other Ethan
Do you take your handcuffs home with you? 🙂 I would like to borrow them.
