REVIEW
Jinsu’s and Tristan’s dreams have been filled with each other. It’s becoming an obsession for Jinsu, finding his dream lover at the cost of all else. He just didn’t know how far he would have to go. Beyond his familar life, his twin brother that is closer than family. His culture. All forsaken for his dream man.
Tristan’s home is filled with drawings of Jinsu, but he’s not sure why he continues to draw the slighty foreign facial features, the chiseled body, and this morning he draws Jinsu’s cock. But the dreams are so real. So achingly real, reminding him of his lonely nights. However, these dreams are just that, dreams, and life must go on. At least that’s what Tristan tells himself day after day.
But then, Jinsu appears at Tristan’s work. The man is real, flesh and blood. But can the dream become reality? Is this really love? Can the cultures mesh?
Jinsu comes from a world like an island floating in the clouds above our familar Earth. But his Emperor has forbidden zones which keep the existence of the world below a secret. Now Jinsu is in trouble for going to the edge and discovering what he can only assume is where Tristan lives. Kelan, Jinsu’s twin brother, comes to him, asking for an explanation of his criminal activity. When Kelan learns of the dreams and his brother’s fascination with a human, he tries to dissuade him. But Jinsu is adamant. It turns out that others of their race have had visions of life below, but the result is usually death at the hands of the Emperor. Kelan can tell that his twin will not give this up, and does come clean. There is a connection, a portal from the clouds to the world below. But it is one-way. Jinsu has to make a choice………
The story flows really well. Jinsu is fleshed out a bit more through the description of his life, his brother, and some limitations his culture imposes. But we learn about both men through the other. How the dreams/visions affect them. The loneliness of Tristan’s life and the realities of being gay in America. How Jinsu’s culture accepts both hetero and homosexual relationships equally.
The story is all of 20 pages long. Quite short, hence the shortness of this review. But I’m giving Dreams Come True high marks. There’s one little personal problem I have with it. I don’t like an author to put a number on how big the dick is. I like to use my active imagination to picture it. Sometimes less is more with me. *grin* Also, the situation right after Jinsu walks into Tristan’s work cubicle doesn’t ring true. Tristan puts Jinsu in a cab and sends him to his apartment to wait until the end of the work day. This is a very small niggle, but it doesn’t affect the story as a whole.
There is a big misunderstanding halfway through their first sex scene, but the author pulls it off. It isn’t a distraction from the story, but rather adds more depth to both men.
Ah the cover, only that deserves a 10+, not surprised about the temptation part 🙂
And the story seems to be at the same level. Must add to the list.

Thank you Helena. I’m glad someone agrees with me on the cover. Wave has informed me that that picture is just plain, ordinary stock photo available in thousands of places on the net. And I’m sure I could probably find a nude version of this pic if I looked. Heck, I probably have him in my extensive nekid men files right now. Hmmmmmm, wonder where he is hiding? Research, I need to do some research this afternoon.

Hey Cole, this is the first story of this author I’ve read, but I did see the reviews of his other books.
I just don’t like dick size explained in inches. I like the terms thick, throbbing, dreams didn’t do it justice, that sort of thing.
In the story, Tristan wakes from his latest dream of Jinsu, a very erotic one, and then draws Jinsu’s dick and says that it is a ‘fairly nice one, 9 inches long’. Well, in my book, 9 inches is an INCREDIBLY LONG dick, not just fairly nice. Think gay porn and camera angles here. grin
::grins:: Would it help if I explained that Jinsu’s…equipment…is based on a real-life one? Regretfully not mine, mind you. And yes… my first words to its owner were “you know, you’d make millions in porn…I’m just sayin’…”
There was a whole scene I’d written with Tristan’s boss getting pissed over Jinus showing up, Tristan not wanting to get in trouble, and sending him home… But it really slowed the story down, so I took it out. Thankfully it doesn’t pull too much away from the story the way it is.

DC, that scene would have helped me a little bit since it seemed strange that Jinsu shows up, surprises Tristan, and then all of a sudden Jinsu is waiting at Tristan’s home till the end of the work day.
