The organizers of the first annual GayRomLit Retreat are happy to announce that Reader Registration will open Sunday February 27th at 4 p.m. Central Standard Time. That would be 5 p.m. Eastern and 2 p.m. Pacific. Being the funny person that he is Ethan Day even did a World Clock conversion for those of you living outside of North America. He said, and I quote, “I believe that will make it 9 a.m. in Sydney, 10 p.m. in London, & 11 p.m. in Rome.” Is he kidding me?

Ethan says “It was always our intent for the GayRomLit Retreat to be somewhat of a thank you to our readers. We’ve spent a great deal of time and energy putting this weekend together but we haven’t done it alone. We’d like to thank all of the amazingly kind and generous authors and publishers for stepping in to help fund this event.
We do have blocks of rooms set aside at three different hotels in the French Quarter, so while we can’t guarantee everyone will be able to stay at the host hotel we have taken steps to make sure we have enough space available to house all of you. We’d also like to make sure everyone understands that there are a limited number of attendees we’re able to host due to the logistics of the location we’ve chosen for this first year. It will be first come first serve for the 300 spots we have available – that number does include the seventy authors we already have signed up to attend. We will be keeping a waiting list for anyone over that amount and will contact those folks in the event anyone drops out. While we’d like to ensure everyone who wants to come has the opportunity, we only have so much convention space that is available to us.

I like to think the Sydney reference was for me Wave as I told Ethan I was worried about missing out if the registration opened when I was asleep:)I’m probably way off base on that though. Geoff had already registered as an author but now I’m finally registered too so it’s all good. We plan on having a blast in New Orleans!

I don’t really know how many to expect. Since no one’s ever done anything like this, specifically for Gay Romance Literature, so we’re kinda flying blind here. But I guess we’re planning for 300.
