This heartwarming story was sent to me by our good friend Pea and I thought you would enjoy it too. It’s about a New York couple who found their son in the most unusual circumstance. Here’s a quote from the article:
People often say that there’s no such thing as coincidence, and there are plenty of romantic stories about those who feel they have found true love simply by being in the right place at the right time. But for one New York couple, fate took them a step further: They already had each other, and being in the right place at the right time — a busy Manhattan subway station at rush hour — they found their son.
12 years later the same judge who approved the adoption of their son Kevin was requested by Kevin to approve his dads’ marriage when New York State legalized same sex marriage. What an uplifting story!

I first saw this story on the New York Times web site and like you found it incredibly heartwarming as well inspiring. Evidently the judge presiding over the case had similar feelings.

You can also download the 2004 Parent Mag article from the father’s website, which has photos of the family (which I admit I enjoyed seeing). If you click on the author link of the NYT article, it will take you to the website and there is a download link there. It seems all of the articles have generated an overwhelmingly positive response. Personally, I hope this leads to some good news for the father’s screenplay – I would love to see this story picked up by a studio.
