New Zealand MP Maurice Williamson delivered a wonderful speech called “Rainbow across my electorate” about gay marriage in which he debunks his detractors’ fears about what approving same sex marriage would do to the fabric of society :):
I hope you enjoy his speech which is one for the ages. 😆

Utterly perfect! I love that man so much right now I want to marry him and have his babies! 🙂 🙂 🙂
Hi Anne
I’m not sure about his sexual orientation but I’m sure he’s being propositioned as we speak 🙂
Perfect. Especially the calculation about burning and the bit about drought vs rainbow. 😀
Awesome dude 😀
Wow! A practical politician. Who knew there was such a thing? Thanks for sharing!
What an amazing, witty speech! I loved his improv around the word “celibacy.” 😀 And his very brief Bible quote at the end. Thanks for sharing this!
My partner is a Kiwi and asked me to marry her over there (we’re already civilly partnered over here) 😀

I can’t think of a better excuse to visit NZ. When I was in Oz a few years ago I missed out, and now I wish I had extended my stay by 2 more weeks. 🙂
Wonderful!! Thanks for the link. 😀
Fantastic speech! Hopefully some Australian politicians will take note of it.
Wonderful! Thanks so much for sharing. He makes some very good points — with style!
Brilliant! Really loved it – thank you for sharing.
So proud of my country right now!!
Hi Kez
We’re all proud of him. 😀 I wish he were a Canadian politician. Same sex marriage has been legal here for almost a decade but we sorely need politicians with his sense of humour.
