THE REVIEW

One of the most delightful couples that I met almost 3 years ago was Mal and Wes when I reviewed My Summer of Wes which I have linked. This story stayed with me and I frequently re-read it because they were so in love and the dialogue was sparkling and funny. A true romance. If you never read My Summer of Wes I would urge you to do so. Now Missy Welsh has written an update of sorts to Mal’s and Wes’s romance 8 months after they moved in together.

One day, when Wes was out, Mal found a set of stairs built into the hall closet’s ceiling and what he discovered when he pulled the folding stairs down, after he had cut through the encrusted paint, was a total surprise: a roof garden. It appeared that the door to the roof hadn’t been opened in years, going by the condition of the garden. When Mal realized the potential of the garden he immediately thought of surprising Mel with a gift of this earthly paradise, after he had done a lot of work to bring it back to its former glory.

The Door into Spring gives us a glimpse into Mal’s and Wes’s lives today and shows how much in love they still are. This was obvious with all the work that Mal did to surprise the love of his life and I was very happy to make their acquaintance again.

I rated the story 4 stars because I really love this couple. 😀  if you don’t read My Summer of Wes you’ll be missing a real treat.
