With the demise of DOMA and Prop 8, marriages are blooming all over California. One that really got me in the heart was the simple wedding of James Eastin and Allan Murdock who tied the knot after living together for 43 years. They met in a bar in LA in 1970 and moved in together soon after. Jim, 74 and Allan, 83 were married by their friend, Palm Springs Mayor Steve Pougnet who presided over his first same-sex wedding since 2008. “I’ve wanted this my whole life” Murdock said after the ceremony.

Locely story. They were very, very lucky in their lives together. Let’s hope there are more stories like these in the future.
John Barrowman got married too. It’s not 43 years, but he and Scott Gill are together for 20.

You and Eve are absolutely right about this story being much better than the one before, but sometimes I have to introduce a jolt of reality about what’s going on in the GBLTQ world where, as we all know, it’s not all coming up roses despite recent gains in the US.
Of course you’re right Wave, but it’s so good to see that sometimes there is a real Happy End!
