This is pure brain candy. It’s a simple plot, dialog driven, with lots of sex. And it works.
Jonny is bored until Luc the werecat gets through his security and invades his office. Caught, Luc is offered a six week contract with Jonny at Bloodrose as his punishment.
What happens is a relationship fraught with peril as Luc’s last contract comes after him, and now, Jonny.
The dialog tends to be terse, almost to the point of bluntness, but yet it works because the story is mostly from Luc’s cat’s point of view. I don’t think the humor would come through quite as well if it were more traditional dialog – or characters.
Overall, if you like a quick read with dominant vampires, toothy shifter kitties, droll humor, all combined with pages of hot man action, then this would be a book you want to check out.
