Keira Andrews’s Top Five M/M Sports Romances

Please welcome Keira Andrews to the blog today with her list of her top 5 M/M sports romances, to go along with her new baseball themed romance Reading the Signs.

Thanks so much to the Gay Romance Org crew for having me today! Reading the Signs is my fifth sports romance, and I’m obviously a big fan of the genre. Here’s my top five list, and I’d love to know yours!

Top Five M/M Sports Romances

5. Spokes by PD Singer. I didn’t know much about bike racing before I read this book, and I loved learning the ins and outs. Luca and Christopher’s romance was winning and sexy, and I also enjoyed the well-done sense of place, whether it was Colorado or Italy.

4. Training Season by Leta Blake. Leta is a dear friend and I edited this book, so I’m admittedly biased, but it’s still one of my very favorites. I’m a figure skating superfan, and Matty is a dynamite, unique character. His romance with hunky rancher Rob is super-duper hot.

3. Out in the Field by Kate McMurray. As you might have guessed, I love baseball, and Kate’s book is an absolute winner. I adored Iggy and Matt and their struggle to find their way in the sport and as lovers.

2. Him by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy. I am such a sucker for the trope of old friends who had a falling out being thrust together again. This book does not disappoint! So satisfying and swoony.

1. The Dreyfus Affair by Peter Lefcourt. It belongs more in fiction than the romance genre we’re used to, but it’s funny and sweet and I absolutely recommend it. Ben Affleck wanted to make it into a movie in the ’90s, but no studios would touch it. I keep hoping it’ll make it to the big screen one day!

There are a bunch of other sports romances I haven’t had a chance to read yet, such as Avon Gale’s hockey series. What else am I missing? Please share in the comments!
