“Romancing the Wrong Twin” is the tale of a grumpy hairy mountaineer and a struggling playwright with a Harlequin-esque twist involving twins. Sure it’s improbable but it’s a delight to buy into the trope and enjoy this deliciously sexy story.
It’s simple really – Dominic Hartington-George needs money to finance his mountaineering expedition to Eiger, and Aidan needs funds to support his struggling group of players. In order to raise his profile for potential investors, Dominic needs to be seen out and about with an A-list celeb – someone like supermodel Zeb B. But when Zeb B is double-booked for a promotional event, he bulldozes his twin brother Aidan into impersonating him in exchange for the hefty fee.
Aidan, “the more timid twin, a quiet, creative, deep-feeling man” is out of his depth with the charade but quickly finds himself drawn to Dominic’s “Hairy skin. Strong arms. Warm, muscular thighs. Oh fuck.” as well as the man behind the grumpy rough exterior. The spark between them bursts into flames during a oh-my-god-steamy underwear photo shoot and the chemistry between the two is ridiculously hawt.
The story clips along at a steady pace as we get both Dominic and Aidan’s POV until the very satisfactory ending with a big reveal. This was a fun read and a really enjoyable twist on a romance novel trope.
