THE REVIEW
Brett has always been the most insecure member of the Heaven Sent band. He has no confidence about his looks, although his musical talent was never in doubt. His best friend Luc and he had a strange relationship – friends with benefits – sex whenever either one wanted it but Luc mostly called the shots. Brent knew that Luc was only using him as a substitute for Reese, the man he really loved but had spurned 8 years ago, and the best part for Luc was that Brent looked a lot like Reese. Of course Brent didn’t want to be Reese’s lookalike and his confidence level was always below par since he felt that he would never be first with anyone. In addition, Brent hated the publicity that surrounded the band but knew that this was the price he had to pay to be part of such a high profile rock band; all he ever wanted was to be able to play his music and be left alone.
Then Heaven Sent hired a new keyboard player, German born Heller Witting, who set his sights on Brent the first time they met. Hell was determined to pursue and catch Brent, and while Hell in full chase mode was definitely hard to resist, Hell as a lover was incredible. Brent decided that as long as they could keep their relationship at just sex everything would work out fine, but Hell had other ideas which obviously led to a lot of conflicts.
Hell and Brent have always been my favourite couple in this series. Brent is so vulnerable and to partner him with the diminutive Hell with his violet hair and eyes and great personality and talent I think was a stroke of genius on the part of Jet Mykles. I loved that the guys made fun of each other – I also couldn’t get over Hell’s thongs 🙂 but dont be fooled, because someone less likely to be feminine you would not be able to find. For such a little man Hell’s personality was aggressive, powerful and over the top which was in direct contrast to Brent’s needy and insecure persona. There were so many layers in this book but the best part was the glorious sex when little Hell “topped” Brent and it worked out great for both characters.
Brent was really complex and had a lot of personal issues to resolve, including his sexuality, Hell’s jealousy of Luc, and the fact that he would not take no for an answer in terms of a relationship with Brent, which made the book more than just another contemporary yaoi romance with great looking “boy toys.” These books are not deep studies of the human psyche – they are what they are – fun stories about a hypothetical rock band with gorgeous looking men who have the best hair anywhere. I think Brent’s and Hell’s story added a little depth to the characters and in my humble opinion lifted this book above the others in the series. I loved the fun and games and if you’re a fan of this author you will definitely enjoy this series and especially Heaven Sent 3: Hell. Highly recommended

For some reason they were never my fave couple. I think that was Luc and Reese but I certainly loved this book along with the others. Maybe Hell was a little too feminine in appearance (not in every way obvioulsy 😉 for me to really connect with him. I would still recommend it in a heartbeat though.
I’m with Tam on this one Luc & Reese are my favorite. I loved this book but I loved them (Brent & Hell) more in book 5.

I love them because Brent was so vulnerable and suffered from a lack of confidence, even though he was a member of this kick ass rock band. Hell on the other hand proved that you should never judge a book by its cover.*g* What a top.

Because I have read all the books several times and this one resonated more than the others I guess that’s why Brent and Hell are my fave couple. They were all great but Book 4 is my least favourite for a number of reasons.
Ok. I have to admit that I don’t really like Hell. I think I’m put off by his small stature and very feminine looks.
I like Brent though and thought the sections where he was having to deal with all the crappy stuff to do with the band being so famous was done well.

The reason I like Hell is because he is so small statured and had feminine looks – that would be a terrible fate for any man. He had to rise above all that and fit in with the guys who towered over him physically but not artistically. I think he and Brent fit. So although I love the other guys, I think that Hell had a lot to overcome to get where he was. (I’m talking about him as if he were a real person.*g*)
That’s why I like him too, Wave. He is so outlandish, it’s hard to imagine how he looks like even with the detailed descriptions we get.

I thought that he was the only unique character in the series because the other guys looked exactly the way you would expect rock stars to look. Hell, on the other hand, was totally opposite and I thought he was wonderful, especially the way he imposed his will on Brent.*g*

Welcome back:) Although this book is my favourite in the series I do love them all. I think Jet did a terrific job on all the charactes and stories . The only one I’ll take a pass on is the latest, Gretchen’s story, because it’s not about the band, plus it’s a menage.
I should have read your review before reading the book lol! you made me see Hell in different light. the last one is good. (I’m not a big fan of menage) What made me like the book more than I thought I would are the scene with the guys of the band. Just for that it was worth reading. If you don’t read the book read the parts with the band 😉

I really, really like Hell’s character for the reasons stated in the review as well as my comments here. I still think I’ll pass on the newest book because the episodes with the guys are not the main story and might have been inserted to get fans of the series to buy the book. Many authors do this. IDK. Maybe I’ll have you guys give me updates on what happens with the members of the band.:)
No need Wave. Virtually nothing happens with the rest of the boys. Luc and Reese settle on a wedding date, New years day.

You see the most of them in the epilogue. that also features Tyler and Johnnie in skirts. I could mail that part to you if you want *g*

Thanks for the update – now I REALLY don’t need to read the book.*g* Did you enjoy Gretchen’s story? If there’s a picture of Johnny and Tyler in skirts – that I would love to see. I wish LI would sell the epilogue separately because I would love to catch up with the guys.
It’s different from the other stories. It’s with a woman. It’s not about playing in a band and things that come with it. The Gretchen in her book did not “feel” the same person as from the glimpses we got in the previous books. Adding a woman gives different dynamics.
I am not altogether disappointed but it did not feel 4 star to me.
Well I’m glad I stuck to my original decision then, because I would really have been mad if I bought the book against my better judgement and then it did not come up to par.
