Last week was memorable for the number of posts and most of all for another dose of Stuartisms. Stuart asked why there are so many illnesses and injuries in M/M books, do gay men really hum during you know what, and why is there not more 69 in these books?

 Everyone had a grand old time commenting on Stuart’s questions and I’m sorry to disappoint you all but he’s taking a break from his weekly stint on the site. However, he may be back – you never know.

I would like to personally thank Stuart for all the fun he provided for everyone over the past three weeks and I had many laugh-out-loud moments reading the comments on his posts. I also appreciate his unfailing good humour, even when some unnamed persons attempted to throw a few brickbats in his direction.:-D

Tomorrow is the Canadian Thanksgiving so it’s turkey time (not, not here on the site but in Canadian homes across this great country of ours.) However, we should all remember those less fortunate and give back — whether you invite someone into your home who can’t afford a meal, or volunteer to serve lunch at a homeless shelter or some place like The Scott Mission, or just do something to help a friend. Happy Thanksgiving.

In honour of the holiday, tomorrow I’m posting about how much we have to be thankful for, but also on  the sacrifices those who came before made to try and end discrimination against gays, and what triggered the gay movement 40 years ago. In addition, Leslie is reviewing a book by Judy Shepard, The Meaning of Matthew about the murder of her son Matthew Shepard exactly twelve years ago, just because he was gay. I think everyone will be moved by this story. A foundation has been set up in Matthew’s honour and Leslie has a separate post on this topic.

Today Jordan Castillo Price is talking about Plagiarism, in other words, stealing someone’s proprietary work and intellectual property, and she makes some recommendations about what authors can do to protect themselves. Please check out Jordan’s post here.

Finally, I posted the 3rd Ugly Covers competitors today . Please vote for your favourites here. I have inserted a cover in this post from a het romance that didn’t make it into the competition, but which I thought had some merit 😀 What were these cover artists thinking??

On Tuesday, October 13,  Erastes will be posting about the joy and thrill of buying a new book. I’m sure she has a lot of insight to offer about the smell, keen anticipation, and hopefully, enjoyment. I can’t wait to read her post.

Also on Tuesday the Amber Allure “free” book will be Taming Triton by K.C. Kendricks and Lynn will be reviewing An Imitation of Life by Karma Eastwick. I have no idea whether or not she likes the book. In addition, Val will be reviewing A Dangerous Man by Anne Brooke which means that the entire Anne Brooke M/M collection is on this site .:)

On Wednesday, October 14, I’m interviewing the charming Shawn Lane and she talks about why she likes metrosexual men, who Men At Play are and why she likes them, and also about this “thing” she has for men in suits.

On Wednesday Leslie is reviewing Basketball Jones by the late E. Lynn Harris.

Also on Wednesday, Amanda Young has donated a copy of her print book Pyromancer as a “free” book on the site.

There are many reviews underway but it’s a deep dark secret which one will be posted on Wednesday.:) I have a few underway right now (surprised you didn’t I?) *g*

On Thursday, October 15, Clare London is blogging from England. She hasn’t told me what her topic is so I’ll be just as surprised as the rest of you when she hands in her term paper.:)

In addition, the Amber Allure free book will be The Tattooed Heart by JM Snyder.

We’re making a few changes – Jenre used to post her reviews on Thursdays but she has switched to the weekend so someone else will be posting reviews this Thursday. I’m not sure who it will be but there’ll be someone here. It might even be me.*g*

I just found out that Leslie is posting her review of The Lord Won’t Mind, a classic, by Gordon Merrick on Thursday!

On Friday the boys are stopping by to warm your hearts now that the cooler weather has set in. Last Friday there were lots of fights and trades and the trades are still underway. I don’t understand it – invariably one or two guys are too hot to handle.

On the weekend Jenre will be reviewing Memory of Darkness by P.A. Brown, The Elegant Corpse by A.M. Riley and The Price of Temptation by M.J. Pearson. She promised to have the print book cover for TPOT gracing her review.:)

As soon as I know what Kassa will be reviewing I’ll include that information and update this post.
