THE BLURB

Garett goes to the Other Shelf bookstore the same time every week. He loves the ladies who run the place, and he loves the atmosphere. He likes the scenery, too, when he meets Nathan, who’s also a regular at the store, but one Garett has never met before.

After a little matchmaking from the bookstore ladies, Garett and Nathan decide to give each other a try. Garett’s a cop and Nathan’s a cook, so they’re not sure how much they have in common, but both of them are willing to give it a go. Will they find something as enduring as the books they both love?

THE REVIEW

I am a big foodie — any books that feature food in some way are going to be of major interest to me — so Food and Books delivered on that part and more. At 28 pages, what a sweet little read! Well-written and light, I found both characters to be very likable and normal, and I liked how they were together. Cop Garett and cook Nathan both work less-traditional hours, which makes them have more in common than one would think. I loved the fun they had in the kitchen, Nathan teaching Garett to cook and how sexy they made it. I also liked how Garett made the decision not to jump into the sack on the first night they meet, even though the opportunity was there and he wanted it.  And when they did get around to smexxing it up, it was hawt.

Oh, and I re-read FandB for this review this morning and it made me want to make a pot of sauce. So I did. 🙂

If you’re looking for a shortie — a snack if you will — with two nice, likeable guys, and/or like a food theme, try this one.
