I had just read a blog post about how women read/view/use porn which made me decide that I needed a little porn. I remembered that Wave had sent me this book to review so I clicked it open. In terms of filling the bill in the porn department, I wasn’t disappointed.
I read the stories in order and enjoyed each one more than the last, so I’ll review them in reverse order. The Cage, A Hammer Story features Billy and Montana (Tanny) who I gather are recurring characters in the Hammer stories, although this was the first time I had made their acquaintance. As the blurb says, they have tools and toys and Billy puts them to good use as he and Tanny work to re-find their loving space. Sean Michael fans won’t be disappointed in this one.
The Feel of Steel has a interracial component. The unnamed first person narrator his delighted when his black master, Big Boy, brings home a new, beautiful stainless steel cage (more of a sheath, from the description; it sounded pretty hot) to replace the plastic and metal piece of crap he’s been forced to wear until now. Boys who behave receive wonderful presents!
Control is perfect for readers who like “sometimes dreams do come true” stories. Andy has lusted after Dylan for years. Imagine his surprise and delight when he arrives home to find out that Dylan is both gay and into BDSM. Yippee! Dylan quickly takes control and locks Andy up–but not with cuffs.
There’s not much substance here, but that’s not the point. These are short, hot stories that are designed to titillate and they do that well–at least for me. But then, I like hardware. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself surfing the ‘net and looking at pictures of cock cages when you finish reading these stories. 🙂
Recommended for those who want a trio of sexy hot stories with zero plot and minimal character development.
I have to say I passed on this one as hardware is really not my thing. Plus I find the stories where I have no clue who the characters are a bit confusing and kind of leave me hanging wondering what came before. Don’t think this one is for me.
I agree, Tam, that it is a book of stories that will probably appeal to a fairly narrow, niche audience. But they did have the advantage of being fairly well written, if you like this sort of thing.
