A Guest Review by Cole
Review Summary: A sizzling short about a Dom and his two Subs — one his longtime partner, and the second his Godson, who has been their third for the past two years.
BLURB
William has two younger lovers—Sam, who works for a living, and Billy, who is making up for lost time by taking community college classes in order to secure a better future.
When Billy does poorly on a paper, however, William punishes both him and Sam, Billy’s tutor, in order to clear the air. But soon, the boys get their delicious revenge on the older man…
REVIEW
“Thigh to Thigh” is a sequel to the first story about these characters, “Paying Forfeits”, which was published in the Games People Play line released by Torquere.
Sam comes home to find his younger lover Billy lazing the day away playing video games on the couch. Billy has obviously not showered or done any chores, and the house is a mess. Knowing that William will have a fit at the mess Billy has made, Sam sends Billy outside to take care of the horses and cleans the mess up himself. After doing his chores, a sulking and sweaty Billy returns to the house to tell Sam, his tutor, about the bad grade he got on his paper at school (after dropping out, then getting his GED, Billy is taking classes at a community college). Sam knows that Billy is not cut out for school, but he also knows that Billy will have to take a position in his father’s company one day, which means that he at least needs to get a bachelor degree. So Sam knows how much extra work they are going to have to put in to get Billy up to where he should be in his classes. Then, during a particularly steamy make-out session, William returns home to hear the bad news about Billy’s grade. As a form of punishment, he comes up with the idea of binding his subs thigh to thigh, cock to cock, chest to chest, and face to face, while he paddles them. After enduring the delicious torture, Sam and Billy then come up with a punishement of their own and retreat to the bedroom to punish their older lover.
I very much enjoyed this story, which though sex plays the majority of the on-screen time, actually tells us a quite a bit about the characters. Not only are the sex scenes extremely hot and not only do their interactions during sex tell us about the characters and the dynamic of their “triad,” but through Sam’s POV early in the story, we learn a lot of the backstory of who they are and how they have come to be in the menage that they are in. This must be a particularly difficult thing to do in only 6k words, so I really admired the way the authors worked their pasts into the story. In particular, we learn that they have had a long two years as a triad, which have been difficult and almost impossible to get through in one piece. Billy is William’s Godson and Sam is William’s long-time partner. So when William and Sam took Billy in and the sexual tension developed between William and Billy, you can imagine the strangeness that arose within the three of them. William felt guilty for his feelings for his best friend’s son, whom he’s known since he was born and Sam in particular felt like he’s been tossed out of his life and home. Sam didn’t share the same history that William and Billy did, so he felt left out. Yet, it seems that one of the ways they work all of this out is through sex, and the particular games they play. It seemed to me that these were three characters who really needed the kink to give their relationship the stability it needed.
I haven’t read “Paying Forfeits”, and I’ve been told that to enjoy “Thigh to Thigh” you don’t need to. That was certainly my experience, though I will definitely be going back to read the first story, as this has made me very curious about where these men were in their lives the first time we get to see them. I certainly enjoyed the characters, who came across as dynamic characters in such a short time. In particular, I liked Sam, who often seems to be the glue holding them all together. My only problem with the story is that I would love to have read more. I would love to visit these three characters in a full length novel. The kink in the story is not very heavy, so I would recommend it to all of those who enjoy BDSM, or who are intrigued. Fans of the authors will definitely want to check this out, as well. Besides, who can resist that absolutely gorgeous candy on the cover…dayum… Recommended.

Light BDSM and M/M/M menage? lol, Cole, this is right up my alley.
Thank you very much.
You’re welcome Alina. The paddling scene was so hot! I think you’ll like this one 🙂
Let me know what you think!
I went shopping last night. Only I couldn’t stop with one book and I ended with a bunch. You’re to blame, Cole.
“genteel southern faggotry”? lol, how amusing is this compared with the trio kinky love?
But you were right. It’s a well packed short story that gives all the informations the reader needs and… it’s hot.
For me the paddling scene was way hotter than the sex scene itself. I couldn’t stop imagine Billy and Sam bound together, with their butts glowing and that word imprinted on the skin…
One thing is nagging me though. From what I know about Dom/Sub dynamic (only books), the Doms never take the bottom position because is considered a diminution of authority. And here, it’s not only a bottom position but also a double penetration. It was a little unusual.
But I’m only a spectator and I really don’t know how the things work in this kind of relationship. I think each couple (or trio in this case) makes its own rules based on what works better for them.
The paddling scene was one of the hottest and most original scenes I’ve read in a while. I admire scenes like this because reading about a few different ways of having sex over and over and over gets boring sometimes. So, creativity helps 🙂
The way I saw the BDSM element was that they played scenes, but it wasn’t a lifestyle for them. So, it didn’t bother me that the Dom, in this case William, was bottoming, but that when things get stressful, they use this dynamic of play that they’ve come up with to help them work through their problems. I could be wrong, but they certainly didn’t act as if they lived the D/s lifestyle outside of the bedroom.
I’m really happy that you liked this one! Sorry about your wallet 🙁
Hi Cole, glad you enjoyed it.
There are a couple small corrections. Games People Play is a Torquere line, like their tarot series. I haven’t written for Dreamspinner yet. Paying Forfeits has been re-issued in the Into Dark Waters collection.
And the marks left in the paddling scene are accurate, according to a friend who owns a paddle just like that one…
Hi Angelia! Sorry about the mistakes, I’ll make sure to correct them. I’ll read through my post again because I don’t remember saying anything about the marks from the paddling…I certainly don’t remember so as I’ve seen those kinds of paddles before. BTW, that was a pretty amazing scene 😉
Thanks for replying, I can’t wait to read “Paying Forfeits”!
Thanks. just making sure credit gets where credit is due.
You didn’t say anything about the marks. That’s my own contribution.
Cole
As I mentioned ot you, I read this and found the scene pretty hot even though I hardly read BDSM anymore. 🙂
Yeah, it was definitely hot. It had me thinking what different words they had for paddles 🙂
My self-imposed exile from the land of BDSM is over, I think. I’m really starting to enjoy reading them again.
The Impression Paddles come with 3 words and an image.
The image is three hearts. The words are OUCH, PIG and SLUT.

I see they also have one that says BITCH 🙂 Oh man…
I read and enjoyed “Paying Forfeits” when it came out. Thanks for bringing the sequel to my attention. I look forward to reading it. Great review as always, Cole! 🙂
Thanks Lily! I’m glad to hear that you liked “Paying Forfeits”, so I’m definitely looking forward to reading it now 🙂
Why it seems I always need to add books in twos to my list? This time they come with hotness guarantee 🙂
Thank you for your review 🙂
You’re welcome Helena 🙂 If you get this one, I hope you come back and let me know what you thought!
“Paying Forfeits” is now available in a .pdf exclusive at The Literary Underworld, for those who don’t have a kindle and don’t want the trade paperback.
Thanks for the info, Angelia!
